Frequently asked questions
When refinishing a hardwood floor, we have vacuums hooked up to everyone of our pieces of equipment to capture the majority of the dust. This is a standard of ours and is of no additional cost.
In most cases yes, with the introduction of water based polyurethanes we are usually able to work around our customers staying in their home through out the process. The poly we use generally only has a three hour dry time so we give our customers time frames when they can and cant be walking on the floor.
yes, but depending on the circumstance it is better for material to be installed once it is delivered from our shop, since our shop is climate controlled and is in a stable condition year round.
Engineered floors refers to how a hardwood board is constructed. A traditional board is typically just a solid piece of wood. Floors that are engineered is where there are multiple layers of wood that are lamented together with the grains in opposing directions. This results typically in a more stable product in that the lamentation acts as a moisture barrier as well as the multiple layers counteracting each other. The most important aspect when looking for a engineered wood floor is the top layer which is the wear layer or a hard wood veneer. Most engineered floors we install, we try to sell at least 3mm thick veneer to offer a product that will have a very similar life span compared to a solid wood floor with 5mm wear layer.
