Refinishing
Refinishing is the process of sanding a floor to raw wood, then staining and finishing the floor for a desired look. In most cases this is possible and allows a homeowner to completely change the look of their floor and thus change the the look of their home.
We try to make this process as least intrusive as possible, we try to push quick dry stains and water based finishes so a homeowner can stay in their house during the process. All of our sanding equipment hook up to vacuums and we still hang plastic. So once we are done there is little to no clean up and zero signs that we were there except for a new looking floor.
Installation
There are countless manufactures of wood and even more styles of floors. We install prefinish, raw/site finish, engineered and Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP, LVT, etc.). It is up to us to sell products that we know and trust. There can be small details that are missed such as a sub floor that is insufficiently flat and will require repair or leveling. Although that specific case is rare there are other unforeseen issues that can arise so contact us for free no hassle consultation and estimate.
Recoat
Recoating is the process of applying a new coat of finish on to an existing finished floor. This is usually a one day process and gives a floor a fresh look. A customer can change the sheen level to make a floor shine more or shine less if desired. There are usually a lot of factors need to known and meet for a recoat to be feasible. So give us a call to see if this is the option for you.
Frequently asked questions
When refinishing a hardwood floor, we have vacuums hooked up to everyone of our pieces of equipment to capture the majority of the dust. This is a standard of ours and is of no additional cost.
In most cases yes, with the introduction of water based polyurethanes we are usually able to work around our customers staying in their home through out the process. The poly we use generally only has a three hour dry time so we give our customers time frames when they can and cant be walking on the floor.
yes, but depending on the circumstance it is better for material to be installed once it is delivered from our shop, since our shop is climate controlled and is in a stable condition year round.
